They're the original executables, documentation and so on. Now it's time to remove the following files from the extracted patch. On Windows it can be extracted by double clicking on it, on other systems an archiver or even the unzip command can be used. The patch is just an ordinary self-extracting ZIP file. Without it Yamagi Quake II will not work!Įxtract the patch into an empty directory. Please note that the patch is required for all full versions of the game, even the newer ones like Steam. The easiest way to install a full version of Quake II is to start with the patch. Like it has been said, downloading sourceport base for further filesdigging is demanded: Actually, if to dig the files on the CD, it could even pass without the formal install. Installed my Quake 2 version with expansion packs, all added to the Quake 4 CD purchase as bonus contents. I have been around it for the last couple of hours and finally came to how to make it go, since even though all the files are at hand, switching between different sites is necessary with downloads unnecessarily grouped in bundles.
